Letter from A Cutter A Logical Explanation for an Illogical Addiction Forward: In recent years, there's been a rise in media references to self-injury. On internet forums, it's become almost a laughing matter. Psychologists still seem at a loss as far as any method of treatment. Those with the bravery to come forward and admit their struggles with self-injury are often shunned or ridiculed as "attention whores." And friends and family of those who self-injure are forced to take a back seat as their loved one tries to fight a battle that no one seems to know how to win.      As a recovering cutter myself, I wrote
